Questions about your

OUTDOOR MATERNITY PHOTOSHOOT

in Worcestershire

Where do maternity photo sessions take place?

Outdoors or at your home.

It is completely up to you. Most newborn baby sessions take place at home; maternity sessions tend to take place outdoors, whereas families prefer outdoors or a combination of the two.

Outdoors sessions can take place in your local park or wood, at a nature reserve, arboretum ... possibilities are endless. I know many idyllic places in Worcestershire. Check out my blog post about my favourite locations for outdoor maternity photoshoots in Worcestershire.

What should I wear to our outdoor pregnancy photo session?

It is hugely important to wear the right kind of clothing for your maternity photo session. Neutral colours are best. Bear in mind the season, weather and location.

There is a lot to think about and planning is crucial. I will send you a detailed guide as to what to wear and what to avoid a few days before the session. We will also discuss it during our consultations.

Additionally, I have several dresses available for you to choose from free of charge:)

When is the perfect time to book an outdoor maternity photoshoot?

The best time to have photos taken of your lovely bump is sometime between the 28th and 35th week when we can see the bump well. I highly recommend not leaving your maternity photography session to the last minute  - some babies can't wait to meet their parents and they arrive sooner than expected.

How do we prepare for our session?

Once you've booked your session, I'll send you a comprehensive guide to your outdoor maternity photoshoot, complete with advice and checklists to help you prepare and know what to expect before, during, and after the session.

Can my partner/children/mum participate?

Absolutely! Please let me know in advance who will be attending the session.

What if my older child won't cooperate during the photoshoot?

Even well-fed and rested children may cry a lot or refuse to smile. Let them be children and do what they feel like. Some children will need more time than others to get used to me or the camera. I will never ask them to smile for the camera, and neither should you. Have an open mind and don't have any expectations for your little ones. Some sessions are certainly more challenging than others, but I will be able to capture those calm moments and beautiful expressions. I like working with children, and I am a mum too - it helps:)

Can my dog participate?

Absolutely!

How long does the maternity photo session last?

The session lasts up to two hours. This length (more than with most photographers) allows you to fully relax and enjoy a walk rather than focus only on the photo-taking aspect. A wider variety of scenes will be a bonus!

How much will my maternity session cost?

You can find all pricing information on the Maternity Pricing tab on my website.: https://www.karinaoneillphoto.co.uk/maternity-pricing

When should I book my maternity session outdoors?

I recommend booking as soon as possible, as the earlier you book the more availability I’ll have.

What if it rains?

We need to be dressed appropriately for an outdoor session:) Whilst mist, low temperatures or wind are not necessarily reasons to postpone a session, heavy rain certainly is. In such a case, we will move your session to the next convenient  date at no additional cost.

I don't think I look good in photos and feel very subconscious.

I believe pregnant women are truly beautiful. Wear what makes you comfortable - whether it is a lacey dress or a denim jacket. I will capture your feminine beauty and the emotions you are feeling during this extraordinary time for you.

During a session with me, I won't ask you to pose and smile. I’ll gently guide you and give you small jobs:) I will be there to catch those gestures, smiles and authentic emotions. You may not even notice I am even there!

Do you offer a discount if I book both newborn and maternity sessions with you?

Yes, you'll receive a 50% discount off each session fee, saving you £90!

Can I have my outdoor maternity session in winter?

Certainly! I love winter sessions and believe they offer unique opportunities for beautiful photos. You can find more information about winter sessions on my blog:
